Open for Business

With just a few days to go before my official opening, I must say the support and encouragement I have received from friends and family has been tremendous. I thank you all and I will be eternally grateful for helping me along the way. It’s amazing what a kind word can do for a person. But now, for those of you who have been following along this journey, how about the before and after of it.

I closed on the house October 21, 2012. I saw a lot of potential that day. But even with all my optimism, I didn’t see it looking as good as it does now.

Yes, it’s the same place. The only thing left is landscaping and my brother Bob and his wife Barbara, the potter who’s work will also be available in my gallery are on their way. They are driving from Seattle. This morning’s call had them in upstate New York. They are bringing pots and plants. No, not plants in pots. It will be great to see them and I can’t wait to see what magic Bob is going to do with the landscaping.

As William Butler Yates said, “Think where man’s glory most begins and ends, and say my glory was I had such friends (and family).” That is very much how I feel in anticipation of opening my gallery. I am confident that my choices have brought me to a very good place – although panic attacks still creep in now and again. Regardless, I am looking forward to this weekend with a joyful heart. I hope to see you all soon!

  1. Your driveway will be full of cars Saturday AM, Barb, and hopefully through the weekend. BTW, the magenta door looks great against the pretty green color of the house. Good luck!
