Too Thin

Too Thin

Not me, but I do tend to spread myself out too thin. When I heard tell there were a lot of artists in my community I thought an open studio tour might be a good idea. When I posted on our private Facebook page, it received a lot of interest. We then met for lunch. Somehow the idea morphed into having an art show at our community clubhouse. Since it was my idea, well I am now the show’s organizer. To be fair everyone has been pitching in to help but I seem to be in charge.

November 28 – Peridia Art Show – 10 – 2

As with any such endeavor, there is painting and framing to be done. I have some time but time moves too quickly.

On the other hand, I am also a group leader for our writing group. In that capacity I have a few responsibilities. Of course some activities are of my own choosing but that’s just me. Meanwhile I continue to work on a book of historic fiction. I’m up to 22,000 words with quite a way yet to go. I am determined to finish and once again look for a publisher.

You see where this is going. I’m torn between my writing life and my painting life because in addition I am taking an online painting class.

Just for good measure throw in my little puppy dog, Niki, little Saint Nick. In a few weeks he’ll be a year old. Besides finding living without a dog is a sorry state of affairs, I was without a furry creature for far too long. Yes, it made traveling easier but now that he’s not quite so young we have options. Regardless, he also requires time.

When a form asks about employment I’m stymied. Retired? Part-time? Full-time? You tell me.
