It’s been an eventful year for many reasons. For me, publishing my memoir tops the list. That aside, every year I give Tim a book of photos for Christmas. I started the first year we were together and because of our travels, I’ve continued making it a tradition. Every year we look through it together and say wow, we did a lot.
Our cruise this year was down the Amazon River and then some Caribbean Islands, ending in Puerto Rico. That trip proved both educational and entertaining.
An early summer trip to New England included a little book tour. I felt driven to go to Peterborough, New Hampshire. to do a book signing and talk at The Toadstool Bookshop. I lived in Peterborough for thirty years and it feels more like home than anyplace else.
Any trip to New England has to also include Maine both to visit friends and relatives and to enjoy its beauty. Eating a fair amount of lobster also enters the equation. We squeezed all that in as well.
Part of our travels includes a conference Tim goes to once, or twice a year. Sometimes I go along, and we explore the area a little further after the conference. This year I went to both Washington D.C. and Salt Lake City. I went to Washington so I could do some research at the National Archives. Salt Lake City was a new destination, and anything out west is always a thrill and a photo opportunity so I went there too.
We extended the trip to Salt Lake with a road trip through Idaho and Wyoming. Yellowstone and Grand Tetons National Parks were on the itinerary.
Our final trip this year was to Canada to see Mike and Christy, my son and daughter-in-law. It was a good reminder of why we left New England. The ride to the airport to come home was in the middle of a snowstorm. No more northern trips in December for us!
So, without further ado, here are so of this year’s pictures.
Happy New Year to everyone!
